Season 2 :: News

Samuel L. Jackson is reported on IMDb to be appearing in 'Genesis' (Season 2 Episode 1). [~[info]apocalypsos] And guess who he'll be playing!

BERNARD. Rose's husband. So he is still alive? Unless he's going to be part of Rose's imagination, like Jack's dad probably was? eta: Flashback?

Anyone want to speculate on his character? Or the title of the episode? Any link to the biblical allusion of 'Exodus'? Ugh, my bible knowledge is all but nothing.

[info]charlie_claire people have noticed he was also listed for 'Exodus (Part III)'. perhaps imdb.com is just on crack.

Genesis. First book of the Pentateauch...mmm spelling. of the Torah. Its about beginnings. New beginnings. but there is so much more. they got something biblical going here.

I suppose it might be a far fetched for him to have somehow survived with the tail section's (speculated) survivors, when he was (probably) sitting right next to Rose.

I dont like the idea of them continually bringing in new characters just for flashbacks. The story and characters should go forward, not continue dwelling on their past. So yeah, I hope he survived. Though it's a bit too hopeful that Samuel L. Jackson will become a regular to the show, methinks.

As I have said, I am a longtime supporter of the idea that there are other survivors. but Samuel L? I doubt hes up for epsodic television. But, hes still hella cool.

And yes, Rose's husband was sitting next to her, but was in the lavatory when the "crash" happened.

on the other hand, isnt it just a bit racist of us to assume that the black actor is going play the husband of the black actress? you know, the negros just marry each other. coloreds can marry other races these days.

hi... kinda new here... just havnt posted... anyhoo ya said that it might be kinda far fetched that he might hav survived if he was in the tail section of the plane... well heres my take... lil spoilers with it... heh... cuz Michelle Rodriguez is gona be in the second season... and well her character AnaLucia sat in the tail section also... so she has had to have survived because they cant exactly show much flashbacks with her because she only met Jack just before the plane was takin off so theres like a slim chance of new flashbaks with her in them... so she has to be in the show as one of the survivors on the island... and if she survived from the tail section then theres a possibility that Roses husband survived too :) thats at least what i hope cuz seein Sam L J wud be like so cool :)

We just never got to really see him (just his back, I think, as he was walking to the bathroom)

Rose did say that she "knew" he was still alive, though.

Genesis comes before Exodus in the Bible, so I'm willing to be that he's going to be in a flashback. Genesis is also the beginning of the Bible.

My cracked out theory:

They are going to start next season out concentrating on ONLY the others survivors (people in the back of the plane). You know, like, the BEGINNING of their story. The "Genesis" of their story. :)

Meh...whatever. I'm crazy. *giggle*

lovelovelove Samuel L. Jackson!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't care if it's a flashback or he is a Survivor (which I think he is because of Ana-Lucia *gag* being on the show next season) Oh what a great casting choice!

Dang it, I'm so stupid. I just tried to make a new post about this because I thought I was so freaking awesome for seeing it when I looked up something on imdb. I completely missed it.

I certainly think that the other half of the plane is on the other side of the island.

He was also listed for part three of the season finale, so maybe his part taken out to safe the big name for the next season.

Darn JJ. Claiming nothing as Biblical....but using 'Exodus' to end Season 1 & 'Genesis' to begin Season 2.

If 'Revelation' is the title of the last episode...ever, I will laugh.
